About Us From the begining Thom has always had an interest for the fantastic, unusual and bigger than life ideas. 25 years as a professional artist Thom has perfected his talents as a sculptor, painter and designer. 15 yrs ago a client came to Thom's shop in Tucson , Az. and asked him to carve a series of wood signs for a place called "Land of Dragons" located in Busch Gardens , after completing that project for the "Larson Company" Thom was hooked , knowing that the market for hand sculpted marble statues had been turning to molded replicas it was time to make a change. Thom was employed shortly after with the Larson Company as an artist. In the fall of 2000 , after completing a project in South Carolina for the Larson Company, Thom decided it was time to form his own Company formerly (Santa Cruz Studios Inc.). From that time forward, with only a pickup and wheel barrow Big Bamboo Studios grew into a turnkey studio that strives for the perfection of each of it's artisans craft, to bring the best quality in artificial environments and theming possible. Thom still being the main force of all design and hands on artwork, BBS has a long list of artisans that add to the mix. Since the begining BBS has been creating fantasy into reality in the States and Asia Pacific.
